Black and white etching, drypoint and aquatint on paper, 31.1 x 22 cm
La Vendange is a black and white etching, drypoint and aquatint on laid paper, realized between the end of XIX century and the beginning of XX century, by the French artist Joseph Apoux (1846 -1910).
Representing a mythologic scene of harvest with a child-satyr and a woman.Signed on plate on lower left margin. Title in capital letters and in the lower margin at the center.
Printed by A. Bizolier, as the inscription reports on the lower right margin.

Joseph Apoux (Le Blanc, 1846 - Le Kremlin-Bicêtre, 1910)
French painter and illustrator studied painting and drawing with Jean-Léon Gérôme and specialized in etchings. He has exhibited since 1880 and participated in the International Black and White Exhibition (1886).
He is famous for having been the author of numerous caricatures and erotic and macabre prints.
With fresh impression, a wide gradient of greys and blacks, this modern artwork, full margins. Excellent conditions.
