Le Printemps is an original black and white etching, drypoint and aquatint on paper, realized by the French artist Joseph Apoux (1846 - 1910). Signed on plate on the lower right margin.
Printed by A. Bizolier, as it is reported on the lower left margin.
Title on the lower central margin.
A delicate etching representing a woman picking up some cherry blossoms. Fresh impression, a wide gradient of tones, full margins print demonstrating a great talent.
Joseph Apoux (Le Blanc, 1846 - Le Kremlin-Bicêtre, 1910)
French painter and illustrator studied painting and drawing with Jean-Léon Gérôme and specialized in etchings. He has exhibited since 1880 and participated in the International Black and White Exhibition (1886).
He is famous for having been the author of numerous caricatures and erotic and macabre prints.
