HEPWORTH BARBARA: (1903-1975) British Sculptor. T.L.S., Barbara Hepworth, one page, 4to, Trewyn Studio, St. Ives, Cornwall, 20th August 1974, to Paul Hefting, Curator of the Rijkmuseum Kroller-Muller. Hepworth states that she was sad not to have been able to see her correspondent, explaining 'My studio was closed up and my staff away and I was not able to arrange for a visit. This was all very sad; but my son-in-law Alan Bowness has just been telling me all about you', further referring to mutual acquaintances and remarking 'I think so often about the museum and the grounds and my happy time in Holland'. Hepworth also enquires 'Did the Marlborough Gallery send the museum a copy of my New York catalogue? I very much hope so. The exhibition was a great success'. VG
