an antique, Chinese, outstanding, stucco monumental Bodhisattva head.

A rare , unusual big and beautifully hand crafted stucco over wood and fiber. The eyes are inlaid , probably glass beads (or onyx). At the forehead there is a cavity, were once a gem stone was, probably, inlaid. The modeling of the face is more late Ming or early Qing style, but probably early 19th cent. The bodhisattvas' face are serene and compassionate.
His tiara is , probably, missing.
A bodhisattva of this size in such fine condition is extremely rare to find.
There are some losses to the top of the head. there are signs of wear and age are over the head. There are numerous layers of paint, that were applied along the years.
