Manuscript, Torah Novellae and Responsa - From Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv
A number of handwritten leaves, complete sections of halachic responsa (unsigned) handwritten by R. Yosef Shalom Elyashiv. [Jerusalem, ca. 1980s]. Complete sections of halachic responsa and novellae on various topics. All the responsa were published in Kovetz Teshuvot part III (Orach Chaim section 16; Even HaEzer section 197; Zera'im section 236), apart from the responsum regarding the spelling of names in divorce documents, which differs greatly from the final letter which was sent, and later published (ibid, part III section 203, responsum letter from 1980). R. Yosef Shalom Elyashiv (1910-2012), a foremost Halachic authority for over seventy years. He was reputed for his outstanding diligence and profound and wide-ranging knowledge of all realms of the Torah, enabling him to issue a clear ruling on any matter. In the last twenty years of his life, he led the Torah world in Eretz Israel and throughout the world. His Torah novellae were published by his disciples in the series of books named Hearot on Talmudic tractates, based on his lectures, and hundreds of his thousands of responsa were compiled in the five parts of Kovetz Teshuvot. 5 leaves (8 written pages). 29.5 cm.
