Two coins from Lodz Ghetto
Two coins, large and small, of 5 Mark and 10 Mark, 1943.
On one side, the Star-of-David and the word "ghetto" (in German).
On the reverse side, the value of the coin and a German inscription: "Der Aelteste der Juden in Litzmannstadt", the Jewish elders of Litzmannstadt, the new name of Lodz.
The coins were issued by the Judenrat haeded by Chaim Romkovsky and theywere used in the ghetto.
