LA FAYETTE GILBERT DU MOTIER: (1757-1834) Marquis de La Fayette. French Aristocrat and Military Officer. Close to George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, La Fayette fought in the American Revolutionary War. He later became a key figure in the French Revolution of 1789 and the July Revolution of 1830. Rare L.S., Lafayette, one page, 4to, Paris, 10th September 1832, to Joseph Garczynski, Ignace Maciejowski and Alexander Dembinski, in French. Lafayette sends a friendly and thanking letter to the Polish nation, stating in part `..I am proud and happy for the testimony of trust that the heroic Polish Nation has shown to me
