Soult, in his capacity as President of the council and Minister of war, refers to his correspondent as `..Captain Mayor-adjutant of the native Riflemen Battalion of Oran..´ and announces him that the King has appointed him Knight of the Legion d´Honneur. With blank integral leaf. VG £80-100 Pierre Laurent de Mery de la Canorgue (1806-1865) French General and Commandant in Vienna under the second empire.
