BERNADOTTE JEAN BAPTISTE: (1763-1844) Marshal of France, Prince de Pontecorvo and King Charles XIV John of Sweden and Norway 1818-44. D.S., `J.B. Bernadotte´, two pages, folio, Paris, 16th August 1799, to the administrators of supplies, in French. The partially printed document shows the heading of the war ministry, and Bernadotte requests `..the maximum order in the way we have control of the use of funds which will be given to us for the purchase of the equipments and goods for the military convoys..´ With blank address leaf, bearing an ink stamp of the Minister of war, and with very small area of paper loss due to the opening.
