BRUNE GUILLAUME: (1763-1815) Marshal of France. Murdered. L.S., `Brune´, one page, folio, Paris, 3rd November 1801, to General Chabot, in French. The partially printed document bears an attractive coat of arms to the heading, and Brune´s printed name, in his capacity as State Concilor and Chief General. Brune congratulates his correspondent for his new posting, stating in part `..I learn with pleasure that you have been appointed to the [republic] Cisalpine,
