WOLFF KARL: (1900-1984) German SS-Obergruppenfuhrer who served as Chief of Personal Staff Reichsfuhrer-SS (Heinrich Himmler) during World War II. A printed card of greetings signed ('Wolff') by Wolff, on a correspondence card, Berlin, January 1938, in German. The printed text thanks the recipient for their friendly Christmas and New Year wishes which Wolff was happy to have received. Signed at the base and with three additional words in Wolff's hand. Two file holes to the left edge, only very slightly affecting one word of printed text. VG Provenance: The present card originates from the archives of Trude Burkner (1902-1989) nee Mohr. German Member of the NSDAP, the first Reichsreferentin of the Bund Deutscher Madel (BDM - The League of German Girls), appointed in June 1934 after her female arm of the Hitler Youth, based in the Brandenburg district of Germany, had grown to become the second largest group in the country under her leadership. At the end of World War II Burkner was captured and imprisoned by the British.
