In a lengthy postscript, signed with his initials M.C., Campbell writes, in part, 'I have promised to give a lecture to a motor club on Thursday March 4th entitled High Speed on Land and Water……at the Lecture Hall of the main Central Hall, Westminster…..The lecture actually is due to start at 7.30 but to get good seats I would suggest you should arrive about 7 o'clock…..I should be delighted to see you, bring along any of your friends who may be interested to hear this talk which is illustrated with films and slides…..' Together with two telegrams (received copies) from Campbell to Young-James, sending best wishes 'to you and your gallant comrades assembled tonight', and regretting that he is unable to be with them, 1947 & 1948.
