MONET CLAUDE: (1840-1926) French Impressionist Painter. A.L.S., Claude Monet, one page, 8vo, n.p., 19th November 1898, on the Giverny par Vernon Eure printed stationery, in French. A bold purple ink written letter. Monet refers to wine and asks for a shipment, stating `Sir, I kindly beg you to send me to the station of Vernon (when you will judge to be the right time) four barrels of your red wine and one barrel of white wine. I send to you today one empty to the Chanteloup-Andresy station.´ An unusual letter of Monet related to wine, and to the French wine region of Chanteloup where he was getting it from. With blank address leaf, half-clipped. Very small age wear, otherwise G to VG
