RENOIR PIERRE-AUGUSTE: (1841-1919) French Impressionist Artist. Rare A.L.S., `Renoir´, two pages, 8vo, Paris, n.d., to Claude Monet, in French. Renoir informs his correspondent and lifelong friend Monet about a wine purchase opportunity, stating in part `It is at least eight days now that I wanted to write to you and tell you that there is a barrel available containing about 55 litres of marc 94, very good, and for 2fr. 25 cents the litre. Can you please write to me promptly in case you want some, and how much. It is a pity that there is so much, because this barrel of 5 years would be really marvellous with one more year in cask.´ Renoir further refers to his correspondent and his own situation, saying `I will get at the same time news from you, on my side I have not been lucky at all, and still don´t know
what will happen later. I have had a hard time trying to deal with my fingers...´ Renoir sends his warm regards to Madame Monet and to his children. Paper with attractive crowned watermark. Very small minor age wear, otherwise about VG Claude Monet (1840-1926) French Impressionist Painter.
