Hand-written Voltshe Practika. Mathematics textbook for merchants. Yiddish, 18-19th century. 66 leaves. Paper. 9.5 x 10 cm. Yiddish, attractive and well-written Ashkenazi handwriting. A long manuscript that includes 91 mathematical exercises with explanations in the form of questions and answers. At the end are some exercises in math written by the owners. The small size of this manuscript indicates that merchants used it to study while travelling. Original binding. Leather-covered wood with metal clips. Small tears on the spine. Age stains. Good-very good condition.
