Letter from the Dayan of Brisk, the Gaon Rabbi Meir Guttman, to Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld, with an Addition in the Name of the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Soloveitchik
Lengthy letter [approximately 15 lines], handwritten and signed by the dayan of Brisk, the gaon Rabbi Moshe Guttman. Sent to the mara d'Ara Yisrael, the gaon and tzaddik Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld. Brisk, [pre-1913]. Historic information about the connection between the gaon Rabbi Chaim Soloveitchik and the gaon Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld.
In this letter, Rabbi Moshe requests that Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld transfer tzedakah funds to the rashei yeshivah of the renowned Torat Chaim yeshivah, led by the brothers, the geonim, Rabbi Yitzchak Vinograd and Rabbi Yosef Eliyahu.
After his signature, the dayan of Brisk adds that "the Admo"r here, shlit"a, appreciates [your] informing him of the distress of the precious aforementioned ... and in addition to the charity funds, will contribute his counsel and understanding, and all his abilities.
