Gaon Tzvi. The Only Approbation from the Mogelnitza Rebbe, son of the Noam Elimelech

Gaon Tzvi - novellae on Tractate Bava Metzia by Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch, rabbi of Raysha and one of the leading disciples of Rabbi Yehonatan Eybeschütz. Warsaw, 1801. First edition. From one of the early Warsaw presses. Uncommon book.

The book is adorned by many approbations from all the rabbinic leaders, Chassidic and otherwise, including an extraordinarily rare approbation from the Admo"r of Mogelnitza, Rabbi Ya'akov Roitman [Weissblum], son of R' Elimelech of Lizhensk. To the best of our knowledge this is the only approbation from him ever printed.

Refer to the Hebrew catalog text for brief biographies of the author, the gaon Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch of Risha and of Rabbi Ya'akov of Mogelnitza.

[3], 49 leaf, approximately 33 cm.
