Avodah Tama. Regarding the Prohibition of Sacrificing Offerings on the Temple Mount at This Time, Altona, 1872, First Edition
Regarding the prohibition of sacrificing offerings on the Temple Mount at this time, by Rabbi Chaim Nathansohn and against those who reasoned permitting it. Altona, 1872.
Specifications: [2] 126 leaves, 26 cm. First edition.
Content: Large work against the opinion of Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Kalisher and Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Chayut who wanted to institute sacrificing sacrifices on the Temple Mount at this time. The author especially criticizes Rabbi Kalisher's work Ma'amar HaAvodah. The author also discusses Rabbi Akiva Eiger's words which were interpreted as permitting sacrifices, and proves that even he was not of that opinion in practice.
Background: The author, Rabbi Chaim Nathansohn [1814-1878], was the Av Beit Din of Wereshen, and later a member of Rabbi Leib son of Rabbi Shaul's kloiz in Hamburg.
Condition: Very fine. Original semi-leather binding with slight blemish on the spine.
