England 1929 Art Deco Chinoiserie Desk Lighter In Sterling Silver White Jade And Lapis
A beautiful table-desk lighter, created in London England back in the 1929. This sculptural piece has been crafted during the high art deco period and was build up with a mix of styles, such the Chinoiserie and the Egyptian revival. Carefully made with motifs of these cultures in solid .925/.999 sterling silver with thin incised engraved figures of mythological dragons. It is fitted with a round lid of three barrels hinge and a push thumb to lift. Mounted on top with an stepped obelisk carved from natural Afghani vivid blue lapis lazuli. It is framed in the middle, with a genuine antique cylinder seal of natural white jade from the Chinese Qing Dynasty (1604-1911). The jade (23 x 30 x 30 mm) is a great piece of art, carved in the 19th century and depicts mountains, trees and the figure of a mythological dragon in the clouds. Weight: 82.20 Grams, (52.69 Dwt). Measurements: Base diameter 36 mm and a height is 52 mm (1.425 x 2.5 Inches).
