Carl Krenek was an Austrian painter and graphic artist. After attending the textile industry college from 1896 to 1898, he studied at the arts and crafts school in Vienna until 1906 under teachers such as Willibald Schulmeister, Alfred Roller, Felician von Myrbach-Reinfeld, Koloman Moser, and Carl Otto Czeschka. Krenek undertook educational trips to Germany and Paris and completed his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under Heinrich Lefler in 1907/08. From 1909 onwards he took part in important exhibitions such as the 1909 art show and the 1910 international hunting exhibition. His illustrative talent and versatility were entirely in line with the Lefler-Moser school. He mastered techniques such as tempera, lithography, algraphy and woodcut and designed fabric patterns, posters, postcards, book decorations and stained glass windows. Krenek also created primarily small-format Viennese and Wachau landscapes as well as fairy tale pictures, posters and postcards for the Wiener Werkstätte. He was a member of the Austrian Werkbund. Further artists and styles: Hochschule für Angewandte Kunst, Universität für angewandte Kunst, Christian Ludwig Attersee, Franz Barwig der Ältere, Wander Bertoni, Max Domenig, Adolf Frohner, Bruno Gironcoli, Zaha Hadid, Anton Hanak, Matthias Herrmann, Wolfgang Hutter, Martha Jungwirth, Erika Giovanna Klien, Gustav Klimt, Hans Knesl, Oskar Kokoschka, Brigitte Kowanz, Maria Lassnig, Bertold Löffler, Dorit Margreiter, Koloman Moser, Oswald Oberhuber, Michael Powolny, Pipilotti Rist, Gerwald Rockenschaub, Hans Schabus, Eva Schlegel, Vivienne Westwood, Eduard Josef Wimmer-Wisgrill, Erwin Wurm, Otto Zitko
