Imperial Russian Officers Helmet Plate – 25th Infantry
Imperial Russian Officer’s Helmet Plate of the 25th Infantry Regiment. The plaque was used in 1833-1856 on the shakos of the Russian Infantry. The insignia is in the form of a double headed crowned eagle, with a shield showing St.George slaying the dragon. The eagle is seated on an amazon shield with the regimental number (25). Visible maker mark – Fiedorow. A fine example of an officer’s helmet plate, made more finely with better quality. 25th Smolensk Infantry Regiment participated in the suppression of the Hungarian Uprising of 1849. Took an active part during the Crimean War 1853-1856, in the defense of Sevastopol and Battle of the Chernaya.
Condition: Very good condition
