"VaYehi Or" - State Medallion, 1985.
The special combination created by Lake in the medal "Let there be light" symbolizes the totality of existence:
The rounded lines that separate from the center in both directions symbolize the contrast and unity that exist between the world of heaven and the earth, between the branches of life and the roots of the spirit, between thought and action, between soul and matter.
The spiral line on the other side of the medal is a symbol of the progression of light, of concentration, of the secret of contraction, the "infinity" reduced its light to one point, according to the Kabbalistic perception of the fear of the world - "How he invented and created his world, To hold the few "(Ha'ari).
Obverse: In the center, a transparent material appears in front of each focal point of light, a Magen David at full light and the verse "Let there be light" (Genesis 1: 3). Semi-circular lines that characterize a lamp, in opposite directions, as an expression of "the world of heaven and earth", "branches and roots".
Reverse: Spiral, expressing infinity and the secret of contraction. The verse "And there was light" in English ANDTHERE WAS LIGHT, and the signature of the artist Lake: gam also.
Edge: State emblem and the words "State of Israel" in Hebrew and English,
