A book that includes hundreds of pieces of Jewish folklore. A significant part of the stories and songs in the book are from Lithuania. Many of the tales were told to Aspen by Jewish refugees from Jerusalem who stayed a few weeks in Switzerland on their way to America.
Written by Immanuel Olsvanger (1888-1961) who was a poet, translator, folklore researcher, linguist and Zionist activist. The book is written in Yiddish in Latin script. Also includes sheet music.
German, 399 pp., 24x16 cm. Overall good condition: flaws and corrections on the first two pages, a few pencil and ink markings throughout the book. Rebound.
