"Caligula" by Albert Camus - First Edition Gallimard 1944

Originally the book included two plays, "Caligula" and "Le Malentendu". In the copy we have, the other play was cut out, leaving only "Caligula" (on the title page, they covered the name of the missing play with a piece of paper pasted over it). This is still a rare item, of the first French edition of the play, published for the first time in May 1944, after it had already been written five years before in a different version.
French, 18X12 cm. Reasonable condition: as mentioned, one of the plays is missing and the book starts on page 100. Rebound, ex libris stamp on the title page.
