Israel Without Tears, by Ruth Gruber - With the Author's Dedication and Autograph
Current Books, New York, 1950.
Ruth Gruber (1911-2016) was a Jewish-American journalist, author, photographer, humanitarian and official representative of the American government. Known, among other things, for being the youngest person to receive a doctorate, and for joining the refugees on the immigration ship Exodus. In this book, Gruber documents Israel's struggle for independence. Includes photographs by the author, as well as a dedication at the beginning of the book with her signature. The dedication is dated: Atlantic City, December 1950.
