The 75th Anniversary of the Synagogue in Leipzig - Published 8 years Before it was Destroyed on Kristallnacht
Aus Geschichte und Leben der Juden in Leipzig. Festschrift zum 75 Jahrigen Bestehen der Leipziger Gemeindesynagoge.
Herausgegeben vom Vorstand der Israelitischen Religionsgemeinde, Leipzig, 1930.
"The experiences and lives of the Jews in Leipzig - 75th anniversary celebrations for the synagogue of the Leipzig community." The book commemorates the 75th anniversary of the synagogue founded in 1855, and includes pictures and illustrations. This is a chilling document, as the synagogue went up in flames only eight years later, when it was set on fire by the Nazis at the Kristallnacht events. The Jewish community of Leipzig was completely exterminated in the Holocaust several years later. Today a monument stands on the site.
German, 88 pages, 23X15 cm. Reasonable condition: tears and lacks in cover. Softcover.
