Moshe Vorobeichic's first photo book (also called Moshe Raviv), shows the photographer's well-known techniques with uses of photomontage and light-and-shadow play, as well as low shooting angles. The famous and unique photographs depict the life of the Jews in Vilna between the two world wars. The photographer also documented Jewish architecture, Jewish commercial life, Jewish figures in the synagogue courtyard, the cloister, the Beit Midrash HaGra, etc.  Moshe Vorobeichic (Raviv) (1904 - 1995) was a prominent painter and photographer in the field of photomontage. One of the founders of Kiryat HaOmanim in Safed. Raviv studied at the University of Vilna in the Department of Arts and Architecture, at the Bauhaus in Dessau, Germany, and at the Ecole de Photo Ciné in Paris. Hebrew and German. Title page and introduction in Hebrew and German, and an explanation next to each picture in Hebrew and German. Very good condition. A copy in excellent condition of a classic book in the field of Jewish photography and Jewish life in Vilna.
