Ausstellungsführer, BERLIN, 1937 or 1936.  An accompanying guide to the infamous exhibition held by the Nazi Party in 1937 in the city of Munich. The exhibition featured 650 paintings and sculptures by 112 artists that the Nazi party confiscated from museums and galleries across Germany. The purpose of the exhibition was to present everything that was perceived by the Nazi party as degenerate and perverted in modern art. It featured works by the best modern artists of the first half of the 20th century, including Matisse, Picasso, Munch, Chagall, Kandinsky, and others. The exhibition was visited by millions of Germans and was followed by another exhibition by the Nazi Party on music degeneration. A rare and important item. Detached front and back covers.
