Passed away on the 3th of Iyar 1925). Appearing below the photo is the printed signature of the Tzadik: ”הק' ישעי' בן מוה משה ז”ל, שהי' משמש בקודש אצל ה[ר]ב הצדיק מליסקא זי”ע” Hungarian caption on the bottom of the page: STEINER SAJE, bodrogkereszturi rabbi. Hanging this image is known as a segula for protection against mice. 18x27 cm. Rabbi Yeshaya Steiner (1852-1925), of Kerestir (Bodrogkeresztúr) which is close to Miskolc, in Hungary. Was the assistant of his Rebbe Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch Friedman of Liska, and from the disciples of the 'Divrei Chaim' of Sanz. Was renowned as a benefactor for his charity and wonder-works. His picture is famous as a segula for protection of mice. Fold marks, stained. Good condition.
