From prominent Kabbalist and Rabbanim of Kushta (Constantinople) where he served as Chacham Bashi, Rav of Damascus, scholar and Mekubal in Safed and Jerusalem. At the end of his life he was renowned as a wonder worker and many from the old settlement in Jerusalem came up to him for blessings.
