Kimcha DePischa that was Sent from Alexandria to Rabbi Shmuel Salant in Jerusalem

Confirmation of a shipment of Kimcha DePischa money from the Jews of Alexandria, Egypt to the great Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Salant, the Rav of Jerusalem and Chareidi Jewry. ca. 1900 (late 19th century early 20th century). 


In the confirmation letter, the philanthropist Mrs. Tamar Weinbaum, the widow of Rabbi Alter Weinbaum, one of the leaders of the Jewish community of Alexandria, writes that she is sending sums of money from her late husband's estate to the Gabaim and managers of the Bikkur Cholim hospital of Jerusalem, under the presidency of the Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Salant, for the poor of Jerusalem. 


[1] lined lead. Considerable fold lines with extensive wear and holes, affecting some of the text. Stamp of Alter Weinbaum, Alexandria. Fair-good condition.
