Ownership notation and signature of Mori Yichya Kapach, one of the greatest sages of Yemen in his generation.  [4] lines handwritten and signed by Mori Yichya Kapach. [Yemen].  [1] leaf, thick paper on which Rabbi Yichya Kapach wrote that he received this Mishna from Yosef ben Sa'id Pinchas in exchange for Mishna Seder Nezikim written on vellum. He then signed his name ”The young Yichya ben Saliman al -Kapach”. Mori Yichyeh Kapach (1850-1931) ”HaMori HaYashish” (The Elder Mori), the disciple of Mori Chaim Korach and Mori Yosef al-Qareh. Was a Dayan of the great Beis Din of the Jews of Yemen, one of the greatest sages of yemen in his generation and the Chief Rabbi of Yemen for six years. Was known as the foremost teacher of the Rambam's doctrine who acted to bring back Yemenite Jewry to the Psikah of the Rambam and Rasag and who opposed the study of Kabbalah and Sefer HaZohar. Was the founder and leader of the Dor De'ah Movement, which was known as the Darda'im. He established a synagogue in his house, regularly teaching Mishnayos, Shas bavli and Yerushalmi, Hilchos HaRambam, Mussar and philosophy. He owned and restored many ancient religious manuscripts. The controversy over the study of Kabbalah led to bans and persecutions, false accusations and informing to the authorities. Consequently, the authorities closed down the school Mori Kapach managed, the Darda'im were forbidden to gather for prayers and Torah study and the rav and his disciples were arrested time and again. In 1918, during one of the arrests, the policemen hit and wounded his son, Mori David Kapach, who later died of his wounds. Mori Yichya authored Piskei Halacha on Shechita and Treifos and Sefer Milchamos Hashem. His letters to Hillel Tzeitlin were published in Sefer Da'as Elohim.
