Sefer Tavnis HaBayis, by Rabbi Mordechai ben Rabbi Meir [Klemens] of Zamoshch. Frankfurt an der Oder, [1747]. First edition. Pedigreed copy with the signatures of Rabbi Moshe Ephraim the son of Rabbi Shimon [Zuckerman] Av Beis Din of Overzitzk. 


[4], 56 leaves, 19 cm. The year on the title page: תק"ז whereas on the colophon: תק"ח. A rhymed Sefer Mussar with an elucidation. With many approbations by leading rabbis of Ashkenaz and Poland, Ownership notations an signatures including signatures of Rabbi Moshe Ephraim the son of Rabbi Shimon, praising his father. In addition, a notation: 'The Wedding of Yitzchak the son of Rabbi Yehuda of Ostrovi [1845] with the bride Pesya the daughter of the dear Zusskind'. 


Rabbi Moshe Ephraim Zuckerman, Dayan in Posna. 

His father, Rabbi Shimon Zuckerman (passed away in 1854) was a Tzaddik who for thirty years studied standing up, Av Beis Din of Kovlin and later of Overzitzk, the son-in-law of Rabbi Moseh Ephraim Ashkenazi Av Beis Din of Kalisch. Several responses were written to Rabbi Shimon Zuckerman in Shut Rabbi Akiva Eiger. 


Simple binding, stains. Good condition.
