Rabbeinu Yerucham; Sefer Toldos Adam VeChava, section I(-III) by Rabbeinu Yerucham ben Rabbi Meshulam of Provence. Kapust, [1808]. Impressive and pedigreed copy, important edition. Important approbations.


3 sections in a single volume: Sefer Adam [with Dinei Adam from his birth to his marriage), Sefer Chava [with the Dinim from a man's marriage to his passing] and Sefer Meisharim [on Dinei Mamonos]:

[1], 8, 1 [i.e. 11]-143; 143-188 [i.e. 186]; 82 leaves. 33 cm. Printed mostly on blue paper. Special title page for Sefer Meisharim.

Leaves 9-10 [of the first pagination] are missing. Mispagination.

With approbations by Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev and Rabbi Chaim of Volozhin - this Sefer is one of the rare ones which contained approbations by the greatest Chassidim and Misnagdim, on facing columns.

With signatures of Rabbi "Moshe Perlmutter" who was a Moreh Tzeddek in Lodz. And with owner's signatures Rabbi Eliezer Zilber (Silver) of Harrisburg (the capital city of Pennsylvania, USA).


Rabbi Moshe Perlmutter Moreh Tzeddek of Lodz - the son of the Shatz of Lodz Rabbi Eliezer perlmutter. A renowned Gaon, author of several Seforim including Kuntres Agunah (1905), Yad Moshe (Warsaw, 1882), Chemdas Moshe (Warsaw, 1896), Chemdas Hanefesh (Warsaw, 1897), Tarshish Shoham (Piotrkow, 1902), Even Shoham (Piotrkow, 1910) and Chidushei Hagahos on the Shulchan Aruch (Piotrkow, 1911). The brother of Rabbi Avraham Zvi Perlmutter, one of the leading rabbis of Warsaw. 


Rabbi Eliezer ben Rabbi Bonem Tzemach Silver (1882-1968) president of the Union of Rabbis of America and Canada and president of Agudas Yisroel of America. A disciple of his father and of Rabbi Meir Simcha Hacohen of Dvinsk, of Rabbi Yosef Razin (The Rogatchover), of Rabbi Chaim of Brisk and of Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinsky, who gave him his Semicha. In 1907, moved to the USA and served as the Rav of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Later, he was the Rav of Springfield and Cincinnati. The Rav was one of the founders of the Ezras Torah aid organization during World War I. During the Holocaust, he was the president of Va'ad HaHatzalah, making tremendous efforts to help as many Jews as possible escape Europe. Author of the Seforim Anfei Erez and Tzemach Erez. 


New binding, gluing to title page, [2] leaves are missing, stains, moth holes, fair-good condition.
