Letter by Rabbi Yehuda Leib Fein, Av Beis Din of Slonim
Lengthy letter about the leadership of yeshivas and community rabbinate, handwritten and signed by the great Gaon Rabbi Yehuda Leib Fein the Rav of Slonim and a member of Mo'etzes Gedolei HaTorah, sent to the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinsky of Vilna. Slonim, 1934.
In his letter, Rabbi Fein describes to Rabbi Chaim Ozer the fundraising for the yeshiva, the efforts made, the distribution of funds from Kupas Rabbi Meir Ba'al Hanes and additional details.
In its second part, he discusses with Rabbi Chaim Ozer the elections that were about to take place for the rabbinate of varied cities and towns and happily informs him about the election of a Rav they had supported.
The entire letter is handwritten and signed by him.
The great Gaon rabbi Yehuda Leib Fein [1869-1941], one of the greatest leaders of the Jews of Lithuania and Poland. The Rav of Slonim, Kopishok and Oshmina and a member of Mo'etzes Gedolei HaTorah of Agudas Yisroel. The vice president of the union of rabbis of Poland. A prominent leader during the period between the two world wars and one of the leading activists who handled the Shechita crisis and decrees in the 1930s. Perished in the Holocaust.
