“The task of the proposed collection is to give, on the basis of documents and materials, as complete a picture as possible of the participation and role of the Jewish working masses in the first Russian revolution, to outline the socio-political conditions in which the revolutionary struggle of these masses proceeded in the notorious tsarist “Pale of Settlement”, to identify party differentiation within the Jewish working-class movement, which was unusually aggravated during this period, and to establish the influence of the revolutionary upsurge of 1905 on the weakening of the national isolation of the Jewish masses and the convergence of their struggle with the general revolutionary movement in the country.
