M. S. Belomlinsky (b. July 27, 1934) — Russian Illustrator. The father of the writer Julia Belomlinskaya. Graduated from the Leningrad Institute of painting, sculpture and architecture named after Repin (1960). He worked, to a large extent, with children's literature, since 1971 was the chief artist of the magazine "Fire". In 1989 he emigrated to the United States, worked as an art Director of the newspaper "New Russian word". The most famous work of Belomlinsky are illustrations to the Soviet edition of the tale of John Ronald Ruel Tolkien's "the Hobbit" translated by N.
