Bidspirit Auktion | Carved wooden jug. Spanish School.

Carved wooden jug. Spanish School. 16th century. - A solid wood piece, probably of Astur-Leonese or Galician origin, carved in great detail around its entire perimeter. It features high-relief vine leaf decoration, arranged in a continuous, intertwined pattern. The rustic side handle suggests a practical use linked to domestic or monastic life. The workmanship denotes a craftsmanship typical of the rural Hispanic Renaissance, where plant elements were interpreted with ornamental freedom. The surface wear and the robust volume give it a strong sculptural presence. Dimensions: 24 x 23 x 31 cm.
