Measurements: 120.5 cm high. 18th-century Italian armchair, ”à la Reine,” characterized by its high, straight backrest, which lends solemnity and presence. The walnut frame features gently curved arms carved with acanthus leaf and scroll motifs, lending dynamism to the silhouette. The turned front legs rest on claw-shaped feet and are joined by an H-shaped crossbar decorated with rocailles and foliage, reinforcing both the stability and the ornamental richness of the ensemble. The needlepoint tapestry upholstery covers the seat and backrest, displaying figurative scenes and floral motifs framed by garlands, characteristic of the decorative refinement of the period. The piece reflects the Italian Baroque tradition, in which the sumptuousness of the carving is balanced by the expressiveness of the embroidered tapestry.
