Icon of Our Lady of Consolation of the Afflicted, Russian School, 19th Century - Tempera on wood. Measures 40 x 34.1 cm. Icon depicting the Virgin Mary standing in the center of the composition, surrounded by angels and groups of the faithful arranged in side registers. Above the scene, Christ appears blessing amidst clouds. The Virgin holds scrolls with inscriptions, while the figures are grouped in an attitude of supplication and veneration. The edge and frame show visible losses and wear.
