Adoration of the Child Jesus, attributed to Jacques Stella, French School, 17th Century. - Oil on panel. Dimensions: 24 x 23 cm; frame: 36 x 35 cm. A scene of the Adoration of the Christ Child with a circular composition in which several figures surround the Child, who is held by an elderly man with a white beard dressed in a flowing red cloak. In the foreground, a kneeling female figure in a pink tunic and blue cloak appears in a devotional pose, accompanied by other figures and a young man carrying a large book. The naked Child, partially wrapped in white cloths and with a luminous halo, draws the attention of the scene through warm lighting against a dark background. The compact arrangement of the figures and the refined chromatic treatment reflect French classicist models of the 17th century, associated with the circle of Jacques Stella.
