Bidspirit auction | F. CAUWELAERT, DISCIPLE OF ADOLPHE

F. CAUWELAERT, DISCIPLE OF ADOLPHE SAX - Prototype bombardment - Metal. Dimensions: 99 x 42 x 99 cm. An interesting prototype euphonium dating from the early 20th century, made by F. Cauwelaert, cited as a pupil of Adolphe Sax. The piece is of considerable interest within the history of organology and the evolution of brass instruments, as it represents a typology linked to the technical and formal experimentation developed around the brass family in the wake of the innovations introduced by Sax. Its status as a prototype gives it special documentary value, both for its rarity and for its connection to the development and refinement of this type of instrument in the first half of the 20th century. Lot in international warehouse (within the EU). Intra-EU shipping: no import duties apply within the EU. An export permit from the country of origin may be required.
