With some elements such as the helmet and the gloves dating from the 20th century attached on the document. A stunning 16th century Renaissance knight’s armour, notable for its design and refined craftsmanship. The ensemble comprises a closed helmet with hinged visor, a breastplate decorated with engraved rosettes and geometric motifs, and plate tassets over a chainmail skirt. Articulated shoulder pads allow mobility without compromising protection. Complete with matching gauntlets, this armour has retained its original elements, unusual for a piece of this period, making it an outstanding example of the art of Renaissance armourmaking. Its state of preservation and rich patina suggest careful maintenance over the centuries, while hand-engraved decorative details highlight the status of the knight who wore it.
