Very Important and Exquisite Japanese Cabinet - Small cabinet called a kodansu, characteristic of Japanese lacquered woodwork from the late Meiji and early Taisho periods. Japan, circa 1900-1920. Adorned with gold leaf and chased metal fittings, it opens with two doors revealing six small drawers and a large lower drawer. 14.5 x 27 cm. Minor signs of wear, light dents on the lower corners, and occasional chips in the lacquer. Lot in international warehouse (within the EU). Intra-EU shipment: no import duties apply within the EU.
