GIUSEPPE PALIZZI (Lanciano, 1812 – Paris, 1888) - Muche al pascolo - Oil on canvas. Dimensions: 70 × 100 cm. In its original gilt frame. The work depicts a pastoral scene with cows grazing in a rural landscape, a characteristic theme in the paintings of Giuseppe Palizzi, one of the leading exponents of 19th-century Italian naturalist painting. In the composition, the animals are integrated into a rural environment treated with attention to atmosphere and direct observation of nature. Palizzi spent much of his career between Italy and France, where he came into contact with the landscape painting of the Barbizon school. His work is characterized by a realistic approach and a remarkable sensitivity towards the representation of animals and rural life, elements that became one of the distinctive features of his production. Scenes of livestock in the countryside, executed with a naturalistic brushstroke and a balanced palette, are among the most highly regarded themes in his oeuvre. The painting is presented in its original gilt frame, in keeping with the decorative tastes of the second half of the 19th century. Lot in international warehouse (within the EU).
