Bidspirit auction | Castilian table with drawers. Spanish
Castilian table with drawers. Spanish School. 17th century. - Carved walnut wood. A sober and functional table crafted from solid walnut, typical of 17th-century Castilian furniture. It features two front drawers with original wrought iron fittings and circular handles, integrated into a rectangular structure with straight lines and balanced proportions. The legs, turned in the shape of a sausage, are joined by straight jambs that provide rigidity and structural coherence. The smooth, thick tabletop has a patina darkened by use, reinforcing its authenticity and age. The table, with its austere profile, reflects the ideals of early Castilian Baroque: strength, solidity, and absence of superfluous ornamentation. Its robustness and design make it a piece that is both utilitarian and representative of 17th-century rural and noble domestic furniture. Dimensions: 73 x 106 x 57 cm.
