This small-format sculpture depicts a Jesuit saint, likely identified as Saint Francis Xavier, dressed in a cassock and surplice decorated with ornamental gilded motifs. The figure is positioned as if preaching or blessing, with his right arm extended and his gaze directed towards the viewer, emphasizing his evangelizing role. The linear treatment of the folds, the anatomical simplification, and the remaining polychromy and gilding reflect models developed in colonial workshops of Hispanic influence in Asia.
