A set of four rectangular trays with a black background and gilded plant and bird decoration, possibly made using the maki-e technique. The surfaces feature motifs of flowering branches and stylized birds, harmoniously distributed. Careful and uniform workmanship, representative of the 20th-century Japanese taste for refinement and ornamental detail.
