Saint Sebastian, carved and polychrome wood, represented at the moment of his martyrdom. The sculpture, with finely crafted details, presents an expression of suffering and resignation, with the arrows that pierce his body being prominent elements of the work. The piece shows traces of original polychromy and reflects the dramatic style typical of colonial religious art of the 17th century, where pain and spirituality are combined in an intense representation of martyrdom.
