Large Virgin Mary in polychrome wood, Portuguese colonial school of the 17th century, 61 x 31 x 22 cm
Polychrome wood carving depicting the Virgin Mary. The figure, in Portuguese colonial baroque style, shows the Virgin with a cloak decorated with delicately crafted golden floral motifs and a serene expression on her face. The folds of the cloak, executed with great realism, add movement and dynamism to the piece.
